Double Lehman scale

Brokerage Commission Calculator

Estimate your commission using the Double Lehman sliding scale. Every band is applied marginally to the portion of the sale price inside it — never as a single flat rate on the total.

This calculator provides an estimate only. It does not create a fee obligation and does not replace the final executed brokerage agreement. The applicable commission is the one set out in that signed agreement.

Why it matters

SWIFT is not escrow

SWIFT is a cross-border financial messaging network used by banks to instruct transfers. It does not hold funds, does not provide buyer protection, and does not guarantee that a payment will be made or that an asset will transfer.

Describing a wire route as "settlement protection" would be misleading. This platform therefore presents the route as a proposed configuration and will only change that label once a genuine, contractually documented arrangement is in place and verified.

Common questions

Commission calculator FAQ

No. Each rate applies only to the portion of the sale price that falls inside its band. On a $4,000,000 sale the first $1,000,000 carries 10%, the second carries 8%, the third 6%, and the fourth 4% — producing $280,000 in total, an effective rate of 7.00%.

Because the scale is marginal. Every additional dollar above $4,000,000 is charged at 2%, so very large transactions carry a progressively lower blended rate. A $10,000,000 sale carries $400,000, an effective 4.00%.

Not necessarily. The calculator is an estimate of the scale published in this marketplace. The applicable commission is determined by the executed brokerage agreement for your specific transaction, which may contain different terms negotiated in writing.

No. The net payout figure is sale price minus brokerage commission only. It excludes income tax, capital gains tax, legal fees, accounting fees, escrow or transfer charges, currency conversion costs, and any other separately agreed deductions.

All arithmetic is performed in integer cents using integer arithmetic rather than floating point. Each band is rounded to the nearest cent, then summed. This is why the published test cases reproduce exactly to the cent.

No. International SWIFT Wire Transfer to First National Bank (FNB) Namibia is a proposed routing configuration. No beneficiary account is linked, no escrow arrangement exists, and no transfer capability is enabled. The status will only change once a real arrangement has been verified.
